TrueCM Released!

True Blue Software today turns the tables on the traditional complexities of configuration management and version control. With the release of TrueCM, CM users and administrators will no longer need to wonder whether they really tagged all files appropriately, go through error-prone procedures to set up or use a branch, or write scripts to do what their CM tool can't do directly. TrueCM simplifies CM by directly implementing several key operations. Need to tag all files? Need to set up a branch for patch for experimental development? Need to see what changed between releases or verify that patch changes were rolled into the up-coming release? With TrueCM, these operations are visual, fast and directly implemented -- no scripting necessary.

In addition to the dramatic advancement for CM administrators that TrueCM provides, developers will love the powerful and flexible development model. Private snapshots of the archive allow individuals or teams to work in isolation without outside interference. Promote operations quickly share changes from or to other team members. A promotion hierarchy coordinates the flow of change and is presented visually for ease of understanding. Workspaces support the traditional operations of check in and check out, as well as a powerful new update operation that propagates all types of changes into the local workspace.

In addition to the advanced features, TrueCM takes care of the basics. TrueCM versions both text and binary files as well as the not-so-basic file and directory names, and file attributes such as unix mode, DOS text/binary I/O type, keyword expansion setting, and file existence (yes, even deletes are versioned). All these attributes are managed automatically throughout the TrueCM system.
