SnapshotCM Tips & Tricks

  • To populate the directories of a workspace, without getting all files, use the wco command with a directory wildcard (which is a pattern ending in a slash):
    wco -R -j*/ .
  • To list all files (and not directories) in a workspace, run:
    wls -R -j*
  • To show all files in a workspace that are not in the snapshot (candidates for cleanup or import), and filter out directories, run:
    wls -KKK -j*
  • To remove all workspace object files, run:
    wremove -L -j*.obj -RKKK .
  • Wco isn't the only command to support filtering files by file name pattern or type. Other commands supporting file name filtering are wci, wdiff, whist, wls, wmerge, wremove and wset. See the wls man page for a full description of the file name filter syntax.

We'd like to make this Tips & Tricks section a regular feature and your suggestions will help us to do that. Send your SnapshotCM Tips & Tricks to support@truebluesoftware.com for possible inclusion in a future newsletter.
