New Release Highlights

SnapshotCM release 1.72 includes three key benefits:

• A new working set model is integrated into the Workspace Browser. The new model supports both including and excluding specific files and directories, with the longest path taking precedence and per-directory defaults determining whether to include or exclude newly added items. Another benefit of the new model is that the Workspace Browser uses it to filter the display of missing files in the Workspace View.
• Faster start-up performance. Thanks to an improved protocol for reading a project hierarchy, sites with many snapshots in a project, or users accessing the server over a WAN, will see the most noticeable improvement.
• Faster snapshot compare performance, especially when many thousands of differences exist. Since snapshots only store what is different from other snapshots, the comparison feature is inherently fast, but the algorithms for handling the difference list previously did not scale.
